CharityBid Terms & Conditions
CHARITY AUCTION TERMS
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please note that you submit your bid on the condition that you have read and accepted all the Terms and Conditions below:
Each item starts at £0 unless a starting price has been set. Unless specified, travel, accommodation and other incidental expenses are not included in any lot. Please see full auction Terms and Conditions below before bidding. All bids are binding and the winners will be notified by the Auctioneer whose decision is final.
1. By bidding for any lot you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. The auction is open to UK residents aged 18 or over.
3. When you place a bid you thereby enter a contractually binding and irrevocable obligation to complete the transaction, if you are the winning bidder of that lot. The 'winning bidder' is the person certified to be the highest bidder by the Auctioneer at the end of the auction. This includes any under-bidder who is awarded the lot following the failure, for any reason, of a higher bid as decreed by the Auctioneer.
4. Payment by winning bidders is due one week after the auction closes at the very latest. Payment can be made via debit/credit card at the winner’s nearest Childbase Partnership nursery/Head Office.
5. Unless otherwise stated winning items will be delivered to your closest Childbase Partnership nursery/Head Office.
6. The decision of the Auctioneer as to the winning bid is final and cannot be challenged, nor will any explanation or reason be given.
7. You may request to withdraw a bid where the amount entered is incorrect and disproportionate to other bids and/or the item value. This request will be actioned at the discretion of the Auctioneer.
8. Before you place any bid, you must ensure that you are eligible to bid and pay for that particular lot in compliance with UK Law. This must also be in accordance with any specifically applicable Terms and Conditions, for example, aged 18 or over for the purchase of alcohol. It is the responsibility of all bidders to ensure that, if they have a winning bid, they meet any qualification required, have the necessary permissions/authorisations and meet the conditions required to carry out the activity specified in the bid. This includes (by way of example, not limitation) appropriate identification and minimum age qualification.
9. The winner is responsible for making all arrangements and meeting all costs out of their own pocket that may be necessary to take up and enjoy their lot. This includes the cost of travel, accommodation, food and other incidentals not mentioned in the lot description.
10. A number of lots may be date specific or date restricted as shown within the lot description. No cash alternative will be offered and Childbase Partnership Limited accepts no liability should a lot, for any reason whatsoever, not have been taken or used within this time period.
11. Bidders are identified by a unique user ID and full names will not be shown on the website.
12. Winning bidders will be sent an email setting out the details for claiming their lot and will include requirements relating to the due payment of the bid fee and other matters. Failure to comply with all such requirements shall entitle, but not oblige the Auctioneer, to declare a bid void. If he does so, the lot affected will be awarded to the appropriate under-bidder at the Auctioneer’s discretion. If he does not declare the bid void, then the winning bidder shall remain liable for payment of the bid fee.
13. To the extent permitted by law, Childbase Partnership Limited does not accept any liability for any loss, damage, claim or costs howsoever arising from, or incurred wholly or partly by, participation in the auction or fulfilment of any lot.
14. The decision of the Auctioneer shall be final and unchallengeable and, in his absolute discretion, he may declare any entry void. Any exercise of discretion or agreement by the Auctioneer specified in these Terms and Conditions shall be in his sole and unfettered discretion. No reasons can be requested or will be supplied and no correspondence will be entered into.
15. All lots have been kindly donated for this auction. Childbase Partnership accepts no responsibility or liability for any item sold.
